INTRODUCTION
The Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE) is an upper-intermediate examination for learners of English.
FCE is the third level of the Cambridge Main Suite examinations, which assess general English ability from beginners to advanced levels.
It is taken by around quarter of a million people every year, in more than one hundred countries.
Like other Cambridge English examinations, FCE covers the four main language skills – Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking- as well as knowledge of vocabulary and grammar, and assesses learners’ ability to communicate in English in real situations.
OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE
Students will improve their English language competence through the assimilation and use of certain language structures and functions. Listening, speaking, reading and writing skills will be stressed for both general and academic purposes.
Our program is based on the main structure of the FCE test, and we use it as a tool to help our students improve their English language competence.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
- Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- Handle general conversations, and some specific ones with some degree of difficulty.
- Understand and use grammar structures.
- Drafting and redrafting.
- Write a complete report, a narrative and a formal letter.
- Improve on listening and Speaking by having lots of practice and feedback.
